Description
It’s made up of long, fibrous strands that are tightly woven together, making it resistant to warping, cracking, and other forms of damage. Moreover, bamboo has a high weight-to-strength ratio. This means that it can bear heavy loads without bending or breaking. These features make bamboo ideal for cutting boards that require high strength and durability. Bamboo is also gentle on knives, preserving their sharpness.
How to Care for your Bamboo Cutting Boards
For the first use, just rinse with clean water and wipe dry after use.
Please do NOT soak in water or clean with hot water, avoid direct sunlight. Do NOT use dishwashing liquid or bleach on the boards. Bamboo Cutting boards are not dishwasher safe!
It’s essential to wipe it dry immediately after washing/use every time.
Standing the board upright or leaning it against a dish rack allows for proper air circulation and prevents moisture from being trapped.
Washing both sides of the board, even if only one side was used, is recommended to prevent uneven expansion and warping due to moisture absorption.
One side can be designated for raw meats and the other side for vegetables or cooked foods to prevent cross-contamination.
Alternating between sides when using the board can help distribute wear and tear, potentially prolonging the cutting board’s lifespan.
